Balmoral House in Australia by Fox Johnston Architects

Located in Balmoral, New South Wales, Australia, this contemporary residence is all about straight lines, varied volumes and openness. It was designed by Fox Johnston Architects as a series of platforms that naturally respond to the site’s topography.

The western side of the Balmoral House features bedrooms and bathrooms at the lower level, while the media room and living areas are situated on the upper one. At an intermediate level there is a garage space. The bedrooms open towards private decks and ensure direct access to the outdoor pool.

The eastern building opens to another deck that is seamlessly connected to the pool. The upper building holds a bedroom and bathroom with a glass wall that keeps it visually connected to the courtyard. All spaces enjoy good cross ventilation and sun filtration.
