Alpina’s Awesome BMW XD3 Bi-Turbo Package

BMW XD3 Bi-Turbo Package (17)

Based on the BMW X3 xDrive35d, this awesome ride from Alpina is called the XD3 Bi-Turbo. This is the tuner’s first modified SUV and the result is really nice. We’re actually surprised that Alpina didn’t prepare us at all for the surprise. No teaser images, no grand announcements, no nothing until the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

But that doesn’t matter anymore. TheXD3 Bi-Turbo is here and we love it. Sadly, it was not created for the US market, but European auto enthusiasts will be able to bring the car to their garages very soon. Still powered by the original twin turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine, but boasting a few tweaks, the SUV is now able to complete the 0-62 mph sprint in 4.9 seconds.

The 350 HP and 516 lb-ft output has been upped from 313 HP and 465 lb-ft of torque, while the original transmission was swapped with a tuned 8-speed ZF gearbox for better performance and a nice fuel consumption rate of 34.5 US mph.

Exterior changes include new sills, skirts and bumpers, quad exhaust pipes, and 20-inch Alpina Classic wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Also part of the package is the stainless steel exhaust, the new manifold, and the electronically-adjustable dampers. Finally, the interior got a sport steering wheel, sport seats with two-tone upholstery, and blue-green stitching.
