Airplane Turned Restaurant: Runway 34

Airplane Turned Restaurant Runway 34 (4)

Runway 34 is the name of a hangar turned restaurant and bar in Zurich, Switzerland. Located close to the Zurich International Airport, the hangar even hosts a vintage airplane where customers can enjoy a really special dinner. The Soviet Ilyushin IL-14 airplane made its last flight in 2005 and now acts as a huge centerpiece in the spectacular restaurant.

Everything inside Runway 34 is aviation-inspired: the menu holders have the shape of airplane tail fins, the entrance is a jet bridge and some of the tables have airplane seats, taken from decommissioned crafts. The restaurant features four different areas: the Cigar Lounge with red leather chairs, the Aviator Lounge, the Wingwalker and the Hangar Restaurant, which is the main eating area where Asian, Mediterranean and Swiss food is served. This is a must-visit place when you get to Switzerland!
