A Million Miles Old Porsche 356

While most people sell or trade their cars before they need any serious repairing or reconditioning, there are a few who choose to stay faithful to their vehicles for many decades, no matter the costs. One excellent example is the owner of this beautiful classic from 1964. It is a Porsche 356C, a great car that has been driven every day for four decades.

After three engine rebuilds and a transmission change (amazingly, the original one lasted for 900,000 miles!), the resilient machine is still in excellent driving condition. During its very long and active lifetime, it managed to come very close to a million travelled miles – 980,000 to be more exact. It was bought new by its current owner’s father back when it was considered to be the best-driving 356 of all.

The car was the result of 14 years of experience in manufacturing the 356 model, so it benefited from many upgrades and improvements, including disc brakes all around. With an air-cooled flat four engine with 75 horsepower, this is not the best Porsche you can get today, but it is definitely a truly special one.
