2013 Lamborghini Veneno Marks the Brand’s 50th Anniversary

Limited to only three units, the 2013 Lamborghini Veneno is a truly outstanding anniversary car, specifically developed to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary – a very important milestone in its history. If you are curious about the story behind this ride’s name, we are glad to come with the answer. As expected, Veneno is the name of a famous fighting bull, just like all the other Lamborghini monikers.

The story behind this one started in 1914, when the sturdy bull managed to kill a matador, thus becoming famous for being one of the most fierce, strongest and fastest bulls ever. Obviously, the new car was created to match this exact profile, being powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine capable of 750 hp and a top speed of 220 mph.

Though sturdy and totally reliable, the car is also very lightweight, being built with a lot of carbon fiber reinforced polymer. Even the interior fabric is far from classic – it’s the innovative CarbonSkin material. The exterior draws its inspiration from the Aventador, but it keeps its own individuality. Its aerodynamics package includes perfectly optimized rear wing (quite huge), rear diffuser, front splitter, and a long fin that runs along the roof’s spine.

The pictures below show the number 0model, which features a unique livery: metallic gray with the colors of the Italian flag. The other three units (the only ones that will actually be sold) will each be colored in one of the three iconic flag colors: green, red, or white. They are already spoken for, as apparently it is not that difficult to find auto enthusiasts willing to pay €3 million for a limited edition Lamborghini.
