2011 Golden Globes: Red Carpet Appearances

Eva Longoria

There were two things that dominated the 2011 Golden Globes Awards: sleeves (and many of them very long) and different shades of green. Some of the gowns were lovely, others did not complement their wearers at all. We’ll show you here some of the best and some of the worst dressed celebs on the red carpet.

Any dress will look appealing on Christina Hendricks’ body…especially on her bust. For this edition of the Golden Globes she chose to make an appearance that was even redder (a Romona Keveza gown) that the carpet she walked on.Christina HendricksNatalie Portman stepped on the carpet with a sleeveless Viktor & Rolf dress and a precious diamond necklace with a retail price of $67,500. She matched the multi-row necklace with a Tiffany Metro diamond band ring ($1,750)and diamond and platinum earrings ($28,200).Natalie PortmanYoung Hailee Steinfeld flaunted a pretty sophisticated look in her Prabal Guring dress and her silver bracelets by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co.Young Hailee Steinfeld Jennifer Lopez chose a diaphanous white Zuhair Murad dress that came with a lovely transparent overlay, decorated with sparkling gems. The shoes, the purse and the immense diamond Harry Winston jewelry she wore completed the picture in a perfect manner.Jennifer Lopez Elisabeth Moss has had better days. Even though the color of her Donna Karan dress compliments her complexion, the cut of this satin gown is not exactly perfect for her.Elisabeth MossWearing a charming green gown, signed Vera Wang, Mila Kunis looked ravishing.Mila KunisEva Longoria was absolutely gorgeous in her Zac Posen black dress with a delicate satin belt, a fairy-tale train and a deep, sexy neckline.Eva LongoriaDelicate like a flower, Michelle Williams chose to wear a flowery Valentino dress. A little dull, we have to say.Michelle WilliamsBeautiful Anne Hathaway wore long sleeves, but she compensated that well with a completely revealed back in a sparkling Armani Prive gown.Anne HathawayOlivia Wilde looked like a fairy in her black Marchesa gown covered in sparkling elements all over it. She paired it with golden Christian Louboutin high heels and yellow gold – yellow citrine jewels from Tiffany & Co.Olivia Wilde Sandra Bullock was appreciated by some and criticized by others. We personally don’t find her red carpet appearance that impressive. She wore a Jenny Packham nude gown with silvery sparkling elements.Sandra Bullock Very similar to Sandra’s  dress was that of Scarlett Johansson, signed Elie Saab. Her hairstyle though, was much better and more in tune with the whole look.Scarlett JohanssonMegan Fox dazzled everybody with her diva-like appearance: a delicate pink Armani Prive gown, sky-high heels and a feminine, long, wavy hair.Megan FoxAlso very feminine, but much less sensual, was Emma Stone in her Calvin Klein dress with short, decent sleeves.Emma StoneWe have to say it: we didn’t like Leighton Meester’s look. The Burberry Prorsum gown, the Louis Vuitton clutch and the Jimmy Choo heels simply didn’t impress us at all.Leighton MeesterChristina Aguilera is obviously much curvier than she used to be, but she is still surprisingly appealing. The Zuhair Murad dress she wore was a great choice!Christina AguileraHelena Bonham Carter is never dull when she appears in front of the cameras. This time she chose to impress us not only with her messy hairdo and intricate dress, but also with the colors that she chose for her shoes: one was red, the other one green.Helena Bonham CarterHalley Berry is always radiant. She didn’t choose the most original dress (a black Nina Ricci), but she is the kind of woman that would look great in anything.Halley Berry

Tom Ford has once again dressed Brad Pitt, while Angelina Jolie went green in a glittering Versace dress.Brad PittCatherine Zeta Jones chose an emerald green (again green) strapless ball gown from Monique Lhuillier.Catherine Zeta JonesJanuary Jones chose a red gown with tribal influences from Versace. She paired it with lovely diamond and platinum jewelry by Neil Lane.January JonesJulianne Moore was one of the least appreciated appearances on the red carpet. The extra-large sleeve of her pink Lavin gown was just too much. And the 79 karats Bulgari necklace didn’t help at all.Julianne Moore
